VIZE 2024 showed the path to circular economy five years ago. It has finally been reflected in the new waste regulations.

Platform VIZE 2024 under the lead of EMPRESS o.p.s., during spring 2015, called professional and general public, representatives of the business and non-profit spheres: Let's promote implementation of the circular economy in the Czech Republic. To this was added ten concrete steps that will be necessary for the enforcement, including an increase in the price of waste landfilling as one of the prerequisites for real recycling to begin in our country. The ten VIZE 2024 requirements were largely reflected in the new waste laws. But the circular economy needs further support.

EMPRESS works closely with the Czech Association of the Circulation Economy (ČAObH) to further expand and consolidate circular principles so that they become a common knowledge of all stakeholders from the state administration through business to the average consumer. How? In addition to practical implementation, educational activities are conducted.

Therefore, the association has prepared an education cycle, which starts with the current online webinar.

NEW WASTE REGULATIONS: WHAT'S SINCE JANUARY 2021?

The adoption of the new law on waste and related regulations is good news for the environment and the circular economy. Despite the efforts to postpone it, it is valid and effective from 1 January 2021. Increasing fees, changes in the waste catalog, etc., all this is a relatively complex issue that we will guide you through.

VIZE 2024 – about us

In September 2015, EMPRESS organized a Round Table of the National Convention on the EU on the topic of circular economy, which was basically the first major event on this topic in the Czech Republic. The round table identified the need for efficient use of primary resources supported by the use of secondary raw materials and the implementation of the principles of the circular economy as an opportunity for the Czech economy to increase efficiency while reducing negative impacts on the environment and human health. The "ten circular economies" established by VIZE 2024 were largely reflected in the new waste laws. Entities active in the VIZE 2024 platform were institutionalized in the ČAObH. EMPRESS and ČAObH work closely together and are looking for opportunities to put the principles of the circular economy into practice.
